Naughty Valentine
T’was last year or a couple of years ago, I sent a 5-message-long SMS to my contacts about what I think about love…
Given that I don’t have the luxury of time to compose something that long again this year, I thought of changing my approach this time. Rather than defining Love, I would define Valentine’s in my point of view instead…
Valentines… it’s a capitalist’s excuse to overprice their commodities.
Valentines… it’s the second Media Noche of lovers for the year. After a sumptuous dinner, some end it with a bang (hehehe).
Happy Love Day, everyone!

interesting point of view, angel. i guess that would be expected from someone whose name begins with the word that means “honest to a fault”. however, it is not to a fault, imho. it is more as a reporter with a view from the inside.
valentines, like Christmas, New Year, Easter, Hannukah, etc., etc., etc., is like all those holidays — an advertiser’s dream, a salesman’s (or saleswoman’s) folly. a way for people to rake in cash. even from those who, because of financial difficulties, would rather spend it in less austentatious surroundings and trappings.
this “special” day should be a more private thing. this makes the “bang” more like the “fireworks” that one experiences the first time. an external implosion expressed as an internal explosion . . .
